a magnificient view of the Himalayan range. |

RABDENTSE RUINS the
second capital of the erstwhile Kingdom of
Sikkim now lies hidden as ruins at a walking
distance from the Pemayangtse Monastery. |

KHECHOPARLI LAKE is
one of the most sacred lake of the state. It
lies hidden under thick forest cover. |

YOKSAM was the first
capital of the erstwhile King of Sikkim .who was
consecrated here in 1641 A.D. by three learned
lamas. The trek to Zongri and the base camp of
the famous Mt.Khangchendzonga begins here. |

TASHIDING MONASTERY
built in the 18th century A.D. Guru
Padmasambhava blessed this place in the 8th
century. It is also famous for the holy Chorten
known as ‘saviors by mere sight’. |

SAMDRUPTSE which means
the ‘Wish fulfilling hill” is 72 kms, from
Gangtok. A 135ft high unique statue of
Padmasambhava which is supposed to be the
highest in the world is installed here. |

TEMI TEA GARDEN is the
only tea garden of the3 stat producing very high
quality of tea. It provides a magnificient view. |

KABI LUNGCHOK is
17kms, from Gangtok, a historical treaty of
blood brotherhood between the Lepcha chief Te
Khung Tek and the Bhutia Chief Khey Bumsa was
signed ritually here. |

PHENSANG MONASTERY was
first built in 1721, as this was gutted in the
fire it was again built in 1948. The annual
festival of Chaam is performed here. |
